What is engineered stone?
Engineered stone is a manufactured surface made mostly from natural quartz combined with resins. The result is consistent colour, high durability and low maintenance.
Can I put hot pots straight onto engineered stone?
It's best not to. The resin that binds the quartz can be damaged by sudden, high heat, so use a trivet or board for hot pots and trays.
Does engineered stone need sealing?
No. It's non-porous, so it doesn't need sealing and is easy to wipe clean. That's a big part of why it's so low-maintenance.
