Care & Maintenance
Keeping your benchtop looking great is easy once you know how!
We know our products well and we want to ensure you understand how to clean and maintain your surface material to protect your investment and ensure it remains an enduring feature of your home you are forever proud of. Below are some high level ‘tips of the trade’ – but remember – we are always on hand to answer any additional questions you may have over time.
Engineered Stone (Ceasarstone/Silestone/Primestone/Trendstone)
Use a clean soft cloth and clean hot soapy (non abrasive neutral dishwashing detergent) water, rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth. Gentle use of a plastic/non scratch scotch-brite pad or similar can be used to remove any stubborn food residues.
Natural Stone (Granite/Marble)
Natural stone is porous – even when sealed – and so needs to be treated with more care (during and after use) than engineered stone does.
It is important to blot up spills immediately to avoid absorption of the spill material into the stone.
Use a clean soft cloth with a mild liquid dishwashing soap to remove spills. Rinse the surface thoroughly with water and gently buff dry with a soft microfiber cloth.
Do NOT use vinegar, lemon juice or any cleaners that contain acids.
Do NOT use scouring pads, abrasive powders or creams as these may scratch the surface. Use only ‘stone safe’ cleaners if you wish to use something other than mild liquid dish soap.
Avoid prolonged rubbing in the one spot as this could change the cosmetic appearance of your stone.
